Frequently asked questions relating to Donations Co-ordinator
| How
do I produce a receipt for a donation? |
When you have recorded a donation whether it is through
batch donations, input via browse, import donations or adding
one-off donations you can print receipts off at three per
page. These are designed so that the address fits in a standard
windowed DL envelope automatically.

| Can
I produce personal statements for someone completing their
tax return? |
Yes, click on the Report finder, 'Personal statements and
thank you letters', select the required tax year and person
then click on 'Letter'. Select the required letter (you
can of course use a default letter or write your own) and
click on print.

| Can
I use Donations Co-ordinator to record donations from people
who do not pay tax? |
Yes, when adding a donor it will ask 'Can claim tax' click
no. If their circumstances change you can change this option
to Yes. If any donations also need amending they can be
selected and changed.

| Do
I have to create two records if one person is giving to two
different purposes? |
No, you can record one purpose as their 'default' but this
doesn't prevent you from recording donations for as many
other purposes as you wish.

| We
receive visitors and quite often they sign a one-off declaration.
How can I quickly enter and claim these? |
Use the 'Quick add donor and Gift' option. This stores the
minimum amount of information required with the amount of
the donation. Click on save and the donation will be included
in your next claim.

| How
can I find out why certain donations have been excluded from
a claim? |
Donations Co-ordinator will only claim on valid donations
recorded. There may be a number of reasons why donations
have been rejected, no declaration date, outside the relevant
claim period etc. To find out which donations have been
rejected and why click on 'Claims' and 'Donations excluded
from claims'.

| I
have already done my claim and I've realised that I didn't
enter a donation. What can I do? |
Record the donation as normal and when you produce the next
claim it will be included. If the donation was for a previous
claim period, produce another claim for that claim period
and it will be included. Donations Co-ordinator will not
make a claim for donations that have already been claimed.
You can be sure that no donations will be claimed more than
once.

| What
happens when the tax rate changes? Do I need an update to
the program? |
You do not need an update from Data Developments. Simply
click on 'Master tables', 'Tax years' and change the relevant
tax rate. This will tax effect immediately for that particular
tax year.

Membership
Efficient membership administration makes life easier
and supports growth. Use Membership Co-ordinator
to record details on members, groups, visits, to
create rotas and to let leaders and volunteers know
what's happening.
Accounts
Finance Co-ordinator has been designed to handle
the accounts of churches and charities as required
by the Charities Act. It records designated, unrestricted,
restricted and endowment funds with full reporting,
budgets, account analysis, prepayments and accruals
and will print a SOFA.
Gift
aid
Donations Co-ordinator will manage donations,
taxable or not with ease. It produces the necessary
R68 schedules, approved by the Inland Revenue.
Donations Co-ordinator also provides full audit
trailing, retrospective claims, statistical analysis,
Gift Aid declarations, email facilities, various
reports and labels.
